Statement
This sculpture is about nature and the phenomena of a cloud. It depicts the concept of Cycle and continuum in the universe. Rainwater and ever changing forms inspired me to make this work. The contrast between the four sections of the bronze parts represent the four seasons and remind me of the constant growth and rebirth on the planet. The stainless steel form represents open space. The circular form can be interpreted as the sun rising or setting. The horizontal and diagonal forms represent the mountains, horizon and clouds. The sculpture changes as you move around it and it’s relation to the landscape. Between nature and the sculpture, I am condensing time and space. They are ever changing.
As Gibran Kalil Gibran said, “The mission of art is to bring out the unfamiliar to the most familiar.” With this, I would like the viewer to gaze, interact and experience my sculpture.
