Artist Statement

“Mother and Child” holds special meaning to me as it represents the love, nurturing, and even sustenance that I received from my own mother. This sculpture exists in completion only during a soft rain. As rain falls into the mouth of the larger sphere and into the mouth of the smaller sphere, there is a connection made between the two forms that represent my thoughts and feelings made physical, the thoughts of a shared love from Mother to Child.
