Artist Statement

This work is a result of my search for a simple design that is comprehensive, visually intriguing and structurally strong.

My intention is to create mass with a minimum of materials and to provide a visual experience subject to individual interpretation. The structure provides an interior, a kind of shelter totally different from the outside which may be entered to observe from within or to converse with someone.

The viewers' impressions may range from pure geometric abstraction to practical, realistic interpretations. The two halves of the sculpture lean toward each other possibly suggesting an image of two people engaged in conversation. The title implies a reference to the significance of communication, an act which seems to be one of our main purposes of living and indeed a fundamental right.

I invite the public to walk up to the sculpture and actually step into it to get the full intended experience and notice the reverberation of sounds.
