Artist Statement

David created found metal sculptures about 30 years ago. Some of them have been standing in the field and over time a few fell apart. During that time he made two Borzoi dogs. One he gave to his sister and the other was out grazing in the field. Alison was apprenticing in stone and painting. She has been welding for herself as well. One day David told her to go put some of the broken metal sculptures back together. She was sure this piece which was missing a head was a horse, so she welded this lovely head on it and it became a "Dog-Horse."
