Artist Statement I work mainly as a painter and graphic designer so I categorize this sculpture as a "dabble." This piece is rooted more in humor and levity than in "high art." I thought of it while sitting next to an ArtInPlace sculpture while in a hurry, stuck in traffic on a Monday morning, running late, of course. This truly a "wouldn't it be funny if…" idea that came to life. I have never worked at this scale or with steel and fiberglass. It has been an adventure but an enjoyable experience, nonetheless. Isn't that what art is suppose to be, an adventure and an enjoyable experience for everyone? Rob Tarbell |
